A quick once-over of someone’s physique typically indicates if they exercise, if they don’t, or if they’re just naturally thin.  But experts like dermatologist Dr. Tabi Lesli of the British Skin Foundation is saying the face indicates much more about your lifestyle — including bad habits — than the body does.

Dr. Lesli says there are certain indicators to look for on the face that can reveal someone’s diet, how much they exercise, and whether they smoke or drink.  Dr. Michael Prager, a London-based cosmetic surgeon says alcohol is the biggest cause of pallid, wrinkly skin in women.  ‘They often say to me: ‘My mother looked so well at my age, I don’t understand why I look so much older.’ I tell them it’s probably because their mother didn’t drink so much,’ Dr. Prager says.

But alcohol isn’t the only culprit.  Others are stress, over-eating, over-excersizing, and becoming a vegetarian.  DailyMail broke down all of the facial indicators that reflect your lifestyle, explained below.

If Your Face Shape Is….

This exercise won’t get rid of a saggy face shape, unfortunately.

Thin & Gaunt, you are probably over-exercising or crash dieting.

Pudgy and Saggy, this indicates heavy drinking and not enough exercise.

If Your Skin Is…

Ever wonder how Hellen Mirren lacks those coarse wrinkles?

Wrinkly, you haven’t been wearing enough sun block.  Fine lines come with age, but deeper wrinkles are usually from sun damage.

Pale, you’re not eating enough greens nor enough fruit.  Three portions of fruit and vegetables per day will give the skin a natural glow akin to a suntan within weeks.  Also pale skin usually comes in hand with being overweight, as the more fat a person has the more hidden the pigmentation from carotenoids in the fruits and vegetables.

Flushed, this indicates too much caffeine consumption or a lack of sunlight.  Large amounts of caffeine will dehydrate skin and give it a red, parched look.  At the same time, not enough Vitamin D will cause redness and flakiness on the skin.

Covered in Acne, you are likely consuming a lot of dairy or maintaining a high-caloric diet.  Another possibility is a low-carb/high protein diet like the Atkins.

Dark Rings Around The Neck are an indicator you consume a lot of sugary foods and carbs.

If Your Mouth…

Has Cracks At The Side, the scientific term of which is called ‘angular stomatitis’ indicates a lack of Vitamin B.  In other words, you’re not eating enough greens.

Is Full of Shrinking Teeth indicates one of three things: stress, eating fatty foods, or eating spicy foods.  Stress causes people to grind and clench their teeth, while foods that are high in fat and spice will cause a higher production of acid that will wear away at the teeth.

Full of Pale, Receding Gums indicates a smoker.

If Your Eyes….

Are Watery, you might not be getting enough sleep or you spend too much time staring at the computer screen.

Have Dark Circles, this is also an indicator of lack of sleep or an iron deficient diet — possibly a vegetarian.

Have Rings Around The Iris and Lumps on Eyelid, your diet could be high in fat.

Have A ‘Pearl’ on Your Eyeball, you haven’t been wearing your sunglasses.  Either that, or you’re a surfer.
